Arboricultural survey
'Arboricultural survey' covers several different things, and it matters which one you actually need. A BS5837 survey is for planning applications, the British Standard report that maps every tree's canopy, roots and category before a development goes ahead. A tree condition or safety survey checks a tree, or every tree on a site, for structural defects, disease and hazard, usually for insurance, a mortgage lender, or your own peace of mind. A tree risk assessment is the safety survey's more formal cousin, often requested by landlords, schools and site managers with a duty of care.
